Yamaha, IFA Berlin 2010
Posted by: Keech on 10th Sep 2010 in Keechdesign News
Here are some shots of our work with Yamaha for IFA 2010 in Berlin. We worked with Yamaha designers to create this 4 metre tall sculptural structure exploring the themes of 'the shape of music', 'the touch of music' and 'music in colour', which underpin Yamaha's powerful new design-led audio visual products and branding.
The structure displays timber finishes, product colours and beautiful forms that merge acoustic piano and electronic cello with new concept AV equipment. You may also notice the five horizontal divisions that symbolize the musical stave, with the objects sitting on it like musical notation.
The installation was built in the UK by our manufacturing partners Form, and had to be created in their Cornwall workshops in carefully designed kit form, then assembled on site like a giant jigsaw puzzle.
