Happy New Year 2009

A very happy and prosperous New Year to our blog readers and subscribers; thank you for your support and interest over the past year. Also to all our clients, colleagues and collaborators, from Tokyo to Totnes.
And how about a design fact to kick off the New Year?
2009 will be the centenary of a classic piece of design. A hundred years ago, the General Electric D-12 toaster made its market debut. It's a wonderful object; strongly sculptural - especially without the toast. I love the contrast between the floral porcelain and the power station rigging above.
